Rooted & Rested - Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 24th August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to the services provided by Rooted & Rested, operated by Sophie Haselton-Viney ("I", "me", "my", "Rooted & Rested" or "the Coach").
By booking or purchasing a service from Rooted & Rested, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
These Terms & Conditions should be read alongside the Rooted & Rested Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the Client Agreement provided to you for your specific coaching package.
1. About Rooted & Rested
Rooted & Rested provides holistic sleep coaching, education and support to parents and carers of babies, toddlers and children.
My approach is gentle, responsive and personalised to each family's circumstances.
My services may include one-to-one sleep consultations, personalised sleep coaching, follow-up support, workshops, educational sessions and sleep-related resources.
The specific services included in an individual coaching package will be set out in your Client Agreement.
2. Sleep Coaching and Medical Advice
Rooted & Rested provides educational and coaching support around children's sleep.
Sleep coaching is not medical, clinical or psychological treatment and should not be considered a substitute for advice, diagnosis or treatment from a qualified healthcare professional.
I do not diagnose or treat medical conditions.
If you have concerns about your child's health, development, feeding, breathing, pain, medication, mental health or any other medical or developmental issue, you should seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.
If I believe that a concern raised during coaching would be more appropriately addressed by a healthcare professional or other qualified practitioner, I may recommend that you seek further advice.
3. Our Contract
Information about the services I offer, including descriptions and prices, will be provided on my website or during the booking process.
When you book a service, you are entering into a contract with Rooted & Rested.
Your Client Agreement, where applicable, will set out the specific package or service you have purchased, including what is included, the duration of the service and any package-specific arrangements.
If there is a conflict between these Website Terms & Conditions and your Client Agreement, the terms of the Client Agreement will apply only to the extent necessary to address the specific details of your individual package.
Nothing in a Client Agreement or these Terms & Conditions is intended to limit your statutory consumer rights.
4. Booking and Payment
Bookings may be made through the booking systems available on the Rooted & Rested website, including Wix and/or Calendly.
Payment may be processed through the payment methods made available at the time of booking, including Wix Payments.
The price payable for a service will be clearly stated before you complete your purchase.
Unless otherwise stated, all prices are in pounds sterling (£).
Where a payment plan is offered, the payment schedule and total amount payable will be explained before you commit to the purchase.
You are responsible for providing accurate information during the booking process.
5. Services and Package Information
I will provide the services described at the time of purchase and, where applicable, detailed in your Client Agreement.
The content, structure and delivery of coaching packages may vary depending on the service you have purchased.
I may make reasonable changes to the way a service is delivered where necessary, provided that this does not materially alter the service you have purchased.
I will provide services with reasonable care and skill.
6. Cancellation and Your Statutory Right to Cancel
Where you purchase services online or otherwise at a distance, you may have a statutory 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
The cancellation period generally begins when the contract is entered into.
You do not have to give a reason for cancelling within the applicable cancellation period.
However, there are specific rules where you ask me to begin providing the service before the 14-day cancellation period has ended.
If you expressly request that I begin providing the service during this period and subsequently cancel, I may be entitled to charge for the proportion of the service provided up to the point of cancellation, where permitted by law.
Where a service has been fully performed during the cancellation period following your express request and you have acknowledged that you may lose your cancellation right once the service is fully performed, your statutory right to cancel will end and there will be no refunds.
I will provide any information or cancellation process required by applicable consumer law when you book.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory cancellation rights.
7. Cancelling or Rearranging Individual Appointments
The cancellation or rearrangement arrangements for appointments forming part of a coaching package will be set out in your Client Agreement.
I will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests to rearrange appointments where possible.
If I need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, I will provide as much notice as reasonably possible and will work with you to arrange an alternative where appropriate.
Your statutory rights are not affected by any cancellation or rearrangement policy.
8. Workshops and Events
Where you book a Rooted & Rested workshop, webinar or other event, the relevant date, time, location, price and booking information will be provided before you purchase.
Any event-specific cancellation arrangements will be clearly communicated at the time of booking and will be subject to your statutory consumer rights.
9. Coaching Outcomes
Every child and family is different.
Sleep can be influenced by many factors, including a child's age, temperament, development, health, environment, family circumstances and changes in routine.
For this reason, I cannot guarantee a particular sleep outcome or a specific timescale for improvement.
My role is to provide personalised education, guidance and support based on the information you provide.
You remain responsible for deciding which strategies are appropriate for your family and for how you implement any recommendations.
10. Your Responsibilities
To enable me to provide an appropriate service, you agree to:
-
provide accurate and relevant information about your child and family's circumstances;
-
inform me of any relevant health, developmental or other concerns;
-
communicate openly about your experience of the coaching process;
-
ask questions if you are unsure about anything discussed;
-
use the information and resources provided responsibly; and
-
seek appropriate professional advice where a concern falls outside the scope of sleep coaching.
You remain responsible for your child and for decisions you make about your child's care.
11. Safe Sleep
Rooted & Rested supports recognised safe-sleep principles.
Sleep coaching does not replace safe-sleep guidance or advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.
You remain responsible for ensuring that your child's sleep environment and arrangements are safe and appropriate.
Where relevant, I may signpost you to recognised safe-sleep information or appropriate professional services.
12. Communication and Availability
Where ongoing communication is included within your package, the arrangements will be explained in your Client Agreement.
I aim to respond to client communications within 2 working days, Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays.
Rooted & Rested is not an emergency, crisis or 24-hour support service.
If you have an urgent concern about your child's health or safety, you should contact an appropriate healthcare or emergency service.
13. Confidentiality
I will treat information you provide during the coaching relationship as confidential, subject to applicable legal and safeguarding obligations.
Information may need to be disclosed where I am legally required to do so or where I have a serious safeguarding concern relating to the safety or wellbeing of a child or another person.
Further information about how your personal information is collected, used and stored is provided in the Rooted & Rested Privacy Policy.
14. Privacy and Personal Information
I collect and process personal information in order to provide my services and manage my business.
Further information about what information I collect, why I collect it, how it is stored, who it may be shared with and your rights is set out in my Privacy Policy.
By booking a service, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to read the Privacy Policy.
15. Intellectual Property
Any personalised sleep plans, guides, worksheets, templates, videos, recordings, written materials or other resources provided by Rooted & Rested remain the intellectual property of Rooted & Rested unless otherwise stated.
Resources provided to you are for your own personal and family use.
You must not reproduce, copy, distribute, publish, sell, share commercially or otherwise use Rooted & Rested materials for purposes outside your own personal use without my prior written permission.
16. Website and Educational Content
I aim to ensure that information published on the Rooted & Rested website, blog, social media channels and other educational materials is accurate and kept reasonably up to date.
However, this content is provided for general educational and informational purposes.
It should not be relied upon as medical advice or as a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
17. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Subject to this, Rooted & Rested will not be responsible for losses that arise from circumstances outside my reasonable control or from decisions made by you in relation to your child, except where those losses result from a failure on my part to provide the service with reasonable care and skill or where otherwise required by law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or removes your statutory consumer rights.
18. Circumstances Outside My Reasonable Control
I will not be responsible for delays or inability to provide a service where this is caused by circumstances outside my reasonable control.
This may include illness, technical difficulties, internet or platform failures, power outages, severe weather or other circumstances that could not reasonably have been anticipated or prevented.
Where reasonably possible, I will contact you and arrange an alternative appointment or other appropriate solution.
19. Ending Services
Your Client Agreement will explain any package-specific arrangements for ending or completing the coaching service.
I may need to end a coaching relationship where there is a reasonable basis to do so, including where continuing the relationship would be inappropriate, unsafe or unreasonable.
Where I end a service before the agreed service has been provided in full, I will explain the position to you and, where appropriate, refund any payment relating to services that have not been provided, subject to your statutory rights.
I will not use this provision to remove any rights you have under consumer law.
20. Complaints
I want you to feel comfortable raising any concerns about the service.
If you are unhappy with any aspect of Rooted & Rested, please contact me at:
Email: sophie@rootedandrestedsleep.co.uk
I will aim to acknowledge your complaint promptly and work with you to resolve it fairly and reasonably.
21. Changes to These Terms
I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to my services, business arrangements or legal requirements.
The Terms & Conditions that apply to your purchase will normally be the version available at the time you enter into the contract.
If a change is required by law, I may need to apply the updated terms to existing arrangements where legally permitted.
22. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute arising from these Terms & Conditions will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that may apply.

What to include in the T&C document
Generally speaking, T&C often address these types of issues: Who is allowed to use the website; the possible payment methods; a declaration that the website owner may change his or her offering in the future; the types of warranties the website owner gives his or her customers; a reference to issues of intellectual property or copyrights, where relevant; the website owner’s right to suspend or cancel a member’s account; and much, much more.
To learn more about this, check out our article “Creating a Terms and Conditions Policy”.
